I couldn't even talk about the wildfire that's raging in Northern Nevada yesterday. It was racing towards my friend's home, and the gliderport my husband and son belong to. I thought we'd lost it all last night. Then came the thunderstorm. Firefighters are our heroes forever.

A dangerous situation has developed on western flank of #BugFire this evening along CA/NV border near Hwy 395. Due to strong thunderstorm-associated outflow winds and other fire-storm interactions, the fire has reversed its trajectory & burned back into CA (reaching 395). #CAwx

While looking at smoke trails from the Grasshopper fire and the big one near Klamath Lake, I noticed a huge plume near Reno and looked it up. Lots of loss in progress in many places right now. >>

Terrible situation north of Reno. The #BugFire started last night in eastern California, jumped the highway into Nevada, and is threatening many homes. I used to live in the Cold Springs area, and this breaks my heart.
