    In this house the #budgies / #budgerigars live majority of the time outside their cage...
    Sometimes called #parakeets... i thought somehow parakeet was a word closer to the indigenous term for it.. but it seems to be the contrary:
    «First recorded in 1840–50; perhaps misrepresentation of an Australian Aboriginal language of northern New South Wales: gijirrigā (perhaps gijirr “yellow” or “small” + gā “head”)»
