I haven't been very active here lately; so much has been happening in the last month or so, and I have been wanting to share this so much, but the time and/or energy just haven't been there. In a nutshell, though, I am enjoying life in a way that I probably never did before. Socially and creatively, I am feeling more fulfilled than ever, and I can clearly see and feel changes that HRT are bringing that are making me so hopeful and positive for my body in the long run.

So, first things first: 2 weeks ago I went to Brussels for my first Pride march and it was incredible. I went with some of the wonderful queer women that welcomed me in the community in Luxembourg and we had an amazing time. It just felt so right to be surrounded by these wonderful people that were by my side in my lowest moments and have shared my utmost moments of joy in the last couple of months. The type of music played by the floats couldn't be farther from what I like, and yet I couldn't stop dancing. I was celebrating and being celebrated; it was one of the most joyous moments in my life.

There was a moment early on that really stuck with me. Climbing up the steps to Mont des Arts, I saw at the top a young girl, probably around 10, wearing, as I was, a massive trans flag tied around her neck, like a superhero cape. She seemed uncertain of what to do; might have been her first Pride too. She notices me too and smiles in recognition, and as I pass by her, I raise my fist and we fist bump, both of us with massive grins on our faces. I wish I had stopped to tell her she will be alright. You’ll be alright kiddo. Strap yourself and enjoy your ride, ‘cos it’s a wild one.
