  2. I firmly believe that #Windows #users who only #browse the #web, watch #movies, use #word processing and #email, and do some basic #photo #editing are much better off with #Linux than with #Windows11. This is likely true for 85% of home Windows users.

You don't even have to make any major adjustments because the software looks almost identical on Windows and Linux:

    1) For #browsing use #Firefox (or #LibreWolf).
    2) For word processing use #LibreOffice.
    3) For emails use #Thunderbird.
    4) For movies use #VLC.
    5) For photo editing use #Gimp (or #Krita).
    6) There are now also better alternatives to many other Windows applications available on Linux...

So please explain to me why #XDA thinks Linux is only for Windows users who just surf the web? source: xda-developers.com/linux-becom…

Which Linux distribution do you recommend for #beginners switching from Windows?

Linux is quietly becoming the better choice for Windows users who just browse the web

  19. We can only #browse algorithmically selected content on most #StreamingServices.

Because of this, the services have degraded their ontologies (taxonomies?) of movies and shows.

This basically means I can't tell the services, directly, that I *never* watch sports or big franchise movies.

Which means that all I ever get to browse is stuff I don't watch.

I'm not usually an old guy who says things were better "back in the day." But #browsing for TV and movies *was* better before #algorithms.

  24. I do want to test the Zen browser. Somehow the last years I got really caution with software I do now know only building thrust for that super slow.

I do like the look and feel of it, coming from Firefox, which did stagnate in the development the last years.

What do you think about the Zen browser?
