Watched #BrosMovie today and loved it. Probably shouldn't have watched it with my family because all the gay sex but my only complaint is no openly trans masc characters. But other than that very cute romcom and finally some gay romance that isn't tragic.

If "Dante and Aristotle" is more a more dramatic story, i don't think the reception to "Bros" will have much to do with the fact that it doesn't have distribution.

I work in Hollywood. The entire industry is struggling with whether to release "regular, non-superhero" movies in theaters or put them straight to streaming.

#BrosMovie, what I hated:
Bobby threaded that line of me hating him because of how loud and cutting and bitter he was. That we once again totally skipped past every real sex scene. I really love how the TV show Special handled that.

And finally that the most intimate part was The Jock asking The Nerd to top him. Oh PLEASE with that stupid stereotype that jocks are tops and nerds are bottoms and that somehow the pinnacle of their emotional relationship is the jock getting fucked. I'm so over it.

The hubs and I saw #BrosMovie last night. Mini review in 2 parts:

Loved:
Bobby had body hair! Finally a character on film that looks like me and guys I find attractive. The Grindr back and forth was SPOT ON. The light parody throughout the whole thing was awesome.

The range of interactions -- thruple, the "fucking the couple", etc we're all so accurate and just a natural part of our community.

That's what was so fun about it: it was filled with stuff that was just so ... normal.

Since this doesn't hit cinemas in the UK until later this month, I don't need to bother going.

Welp, looks like #BrosMovie is tanking... HARD. That's a shame, but it was an uphill battle. RomCom X Gay X relentless but meh ad campaign X 2 hrs of a lead known for being shouty and abrasive. Really didn't have a chance.

So, #BrosMovie… There are some great moments here. Luke Macfarlane gets some moments to shine (despite mostly just playing himself). I relate to it in ways I’ve never related to a studio film before.
But goddammit it’s kind of a shrill, sloppily made mess.

Seeing #BrosMovie this afternoon. Partly because I do want to support it. But mostly because all the algorithms noticed I’m a coastal gay that goes to the gym and have been bombarding me with ads non-stop.
