Non-lit areas of the map are a la #Brogue ,lit areas outside the yellow light source are of different colour too.Magma veins have 2 tones now depending on how close the player is to them. AND I figured out how to colour objects+monsters. This is gonna have a HUGE impact on the visuals.

Still remains one of, imo, the most elegantly designed games ever - let alone most elegantly designed roguelike. And the new edition includes the Rapid Brogue variant, which I hadn't tried, but seems very cool

@mjackson He watched #Gracepointe first. I've seen neither - yet. They're both on my list.
Personally, I adore #Tennant w/a #Brogue, so I'll prob like Broadchurch more.

#MerKaBa was decent, but it had a couple of sections where its high pitched tones made me feel like fingernails scratching over a chalkboard...

Okay, that was a really fun run. Only got to level 15, but I did it with a wand of conjuration that I pumped all the way up to 10, which was utterly hilarious. A couple of shots and the whole area was full of phantom swords! I never even needed to use my weapon most of the time.

Got killed by a kraken in the end that pretty much two-shotted me, but totally worth it. Conjuration all the way.

lol, just played a super fast game of #Brogue where I got to level three, then started trying potions and the first one was a potion of descent. And I had FIVE of the damn things!

And then I got cornered by two bloats and rather than die ignomiously on level four from caustic gas, I jumped down a hole, then took the other four potions of descent, plus jumped in any hole I saw.

Managed to make it down to floor 11 before getting killed by acid slimes. A good run indeed.

Ah, that's a shame. But still, level 17 is pretty respectable overall. I got through some hairy situations up to that point with packs of ogres and a spider whose web was on fire but kept shooting more at me, trapping me in the flames.

I suppose thinking about it, I could have entranced the lead wraith in that bottleneck, forced it to fight the one behind it, and then get far enough away to hit the invisibility potion and go unnoticed, but alas.

I've kinda stopped even caring if I ascend in #Brogue any more. I just want to tool around in a dungeon and make ridiculous builds to see how far they get, like pumping everything into a ring of regen or going all-in on conjuration.
