Fleetwood Mac, “Bare Trees” 1972I hate the #FleetwoodMac that most people think of when they say “Fleetwood Mac,” the Buckingham/Nicks era band. I despise them, they make me lose the will to live. However, this band had several lives before that incarnation. They started as a #BritishBlues band featuring #PeterGreen on #guitar, as heavy a #BluesRock guitar as you’ll ever find. (1/2)

In the 1950s England was in the grip of a skiffle craze, a sort of down home fast blues involving washboards and jugs. An off shoot of this was the founding of the London Blues & Barrelhouse Club, who thought it would be great to invite actual American bluesman to play. The first was probably Josh White. The second was Big Bill Broonzy.
