In your country/state, or where you live currently, do local networks (TV/cable/radio) engage in “self-validation”?
Some examples:
* We are the #1 6 o'clock news program.
* {Program_here} is the most watched investigative program in July.
* Our new TV series beat this and that network on the same time slot.And so on.
Here in the #Philippines, I actually do not understand why local TV/cable networks are doing it. We've heard it from them for 20+ years now.
Psychologically speaking, does it have any effect at all?
How about in your country/state, or where you are living currently, is it the same?
If not, what is that one thing that local TV/cable/radio networks are frequently doing that doesn't make any sense for you?
