I watched "Bring Her Back" today. From the same directors as "Talk to Me". I'm going to share some spoiler-free notes.

TL;DR: Well Executed Movie; Great Sound Design; Quite Graphic; Fucked me up a bit.

The sound design is excellent. I have sensitive ears, and really appreciate attention to detail in the sound. I could taste the textures in the sound.

A key character is visually-impaired and played by someone who actually has the impairments (Sora Wong). I liked the casual inclusion of some of the ways visually impaired folks navigate the world and also goalball.

Sally Hawkins plays a significant character. She does a good job in the role. I mostly know her from Shape of Water and Fingersmith and this was a very different character is all. I think she's also in a couple of Godzilla movies and either one of the Jane Eyre or Great Expectations adaptations (can't remember).

This movie isn't exactly "scary" but it is very much horror and horrifying. Talk to Me is/was also quite horrifying but in a different way with different notes. And by horrifying I do mean it fucked me up and now I need to cleanse my mind and convalesce.

If you are squeamish or sensitive to certain things, I definitely recommend reading a guide beforehand. Seriously, there's a lot.
