  1. New on the Tubes "Can you capture like Leica without buying a Leica?"

This video features a look at the Brightin Star 50mm F0.95 MF II, the Nikon Zfc and one more camera that definitely is not a Leica either.

  3. New lens to experiment with. Because I'm addicted to fast fifties. F0.95 but manual focus. I'll need to find my glasses for this one.

  5. A fantastic new lens arrived today …

    a Brightin Star 35mm f/0.95 marvel. Surprisingly inexpensive (Leica’s Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 goes for $14,400 … !) the key number here is the f/0.95 …

which means this lens can let in a *lot* of light.

Take the two zeros off that Noctilux price, and $144 is still more than I paid for the Brightin Star.

That huge aperture lets you shoot subjects with a very shallow depth of field … which does wonders for separating them from the background.

    Pic #1: shot at f/11.0

    Pic #2: shot at f/0.95

I was helping a friend today, so all I was able to shoot was this quick test. I think it works.

    :blobaww:

This is sooooo much fun, I can’t begin to tell you.

  7. So what's all this #NightGod business? Well, I did promise to talk about the lens I used for these shots.

    I recently bought a #BrightinStar 35mm f/0.95 manual focus lens for my #Fujifilm #XH2 #photography.

And the advertising moniker for these lenses is that it's a "Night God" lens, thanks to that large f/0.95 aperture.
