Cursory glances convinced me this was a sand dune under a blue sky. Then, I couldn't parse how nature might produce that unusual dip in the right foreground. This isn't a book of optical illusions, but, it's cover highlights the way art can reveal quirks of human perception and provide a different perspective.

A few days ago I shared a 6 vol serial novel from Fawcett in '97. This is the set that inspired it, from Signet in '96. Note, the first vol of this 1st ed, 1st print set is embossed in silver. Later printings were embossed, but plain white. The other volumes are not embossed. This set is available here, now!

Funny thing... In a previous post from our wrecked shed was a box labeled "Good old sci-fi." I have yet to reach that box, and yet, the loose books from the last few posts are AMAZING! I can't wait to see what's in that box.
