Las lágrimas de *Brian Johnson*, "AC/DC", cuando no le dejaron ver a *Malcolm Young*: “Estaba avergonzado”. El vocalista de "AC/DC" recuerda cómo vivió la enfermedad de su compañero y amigo.
*Brian Johnson*, ha explicado cómo fue a ir ver a *Malcolm Young* cuando estaba ingresado en el hospital por culpa de la demencia que acabó cegando su vida y que no le dejasen verle.
*Young* se retiró en 2014 por culpa de la enfermedad y no formó parte de la gira «Rock or Bust» de "AC/DC" . El artista moriría en 2017. Durante aquel tour, además, *Johnson* empezó a sufrir problemas auditivos que casi acabaron con su carrera. Para tratar esta dolencia, el cantante tuvo que operarse.
El artista se despertó en una habitación de hospital de Sídney en octubre de 2015 solo para que le recibiera un “sonriente” enfermero. “Me dijo algo que me dejó atónito: Malcolm estaba residiendo en un centro de cuidados de justo al otro lado de la pared de mi ventana", cuenta *Johnson* en sus próximas memorias, «The Lives of Brian» vía 'Ultimate Classic Rock'. "Allí estaba siendo tratado de su demencia precoz. No podía creerlo. No sólo estaba *Malcolm* a sólo 20 metros de mí, sino que este enfermero también hacía turnos allí, y uno de sus trabajos era llevarlo a hacer su ejercicio diario”.
¿Y qué fue lo primero que hizo *Brian*? Pues preguntarle al enfermero sobre *Young* y sobre si podía verle: “El hombre sonriente dejó de sonreír y bajó los ojos. 'Lo siento, amigo, no puedo hacer eso. Son los deseos de la familia'. Le dije que lo entendía. En el edificio de al lado estaba el hombre con el que había compartido escenario durante 35 años, el hombre que me había contratado como cantante de "AC/DC" , el hombre que se había preocupado tanto por mí que una vez visitó mi ciudad natal para conocer a mis padres. Incluso invitó a mi padre a tomar una pinta en su club, ¿quién hace eso?".
Para *Johnson* “fue algo duro derramar lágrimas frente a un completo extraño”. Aquella norma la había puesto *O'Linda*, la esposa de *Young*, porque no se sabía cuánta memoria le quedaba a *Young*. "*O'Linda* sabía lo orgulloso que era *Malcolm*, todos lo sabíamos", escribe *Johnson*, "y temía que si yo o cualquier otra persona ajena a su familia inmediata entraba a verlo, podría avergonzarse de su estado".
*O'Linda Young*, "no quería correr ese riesgo, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta todo lo que estaba pasando. Sólo cuidaba de su marido, como siempre hizo. *Angus Young*, hermano y compañero de banda de *Malcolm*, le visitó, al igual que sus nietos, que, según me han dicho, le hicieron muy feliz. Pero me rompió el corazón igualmente".

Natürlich habe ich dieses Fest damals im Kino gesehen. Viermal. Oder siebenmal? Ich weiß es echt nicht mehr. Doch es ging gar nicht anders. Damals lief der Film im Eulenspiegel, auf der Steeler Straße. Nach der Vorstellung konnten wir draußen auf dem Bordstein sitzen, rauchen und schweigen. Kein Mensch kam raus und sagte: „War ganz okay.“ Alle waren berauscht. Weil alle wussten: Wir waren gerade Zeugen geworden. Nicht von einem Film. Sondern von etwas Echtem. (ARTE)
