Wie gut, dass mein Mann neulich keine Lust hatte, mit mir quer durch die Stadt nach Mariendorf zu #Brewdog zu fahren. Ich hab Kind 2 & Family da mal zu einer Hochzeit gefahren und fand es voll schön dort.
Da hätten wir uns aber geärgert: Brewdog musste Insolvenz
anmelden und hat schon im März oder so die Standorte Mariendorf und Mitte geschlossen 😞

I only just learned that #BrewDog is all but shutting down after basically going bankrupt. I loved brewdog. I went once to their Columbus Ohio hotel with beer themed rooms and on-site restaurants and such. What a shame!
They were really early in the crowdsourcing investment phenomenon. They basically ran one in-house. It raised £75M from thousands of small investors. I always felt unlucky that I didn’t get to invest. I missed it.
Well, those little investors are probably gonna get absolutely nothing. Sad. It will become a business school case study.

Wow. What a strange ride.
A friend of mine from Glasgow was one of the Punks With Purpose - a former bar manager of many years. He was low-key traumatised, but realisation was a long time coming for him.
So none of this is surprising, and the stories have been known for a while, but I literally hadn't heard anything about the company since then. Full on.

I’ve invested in things I’ve not fully understood, but only invested what I could afford to lose (and did lose).
Experience is a harsh teacher, as they say. (Here the lesson is the difference between ‘ordinary’ and ‘preference’ shares. "Equity For Punks" investors bought ordinary shares, but only preference shareholders would get their money back first in the event of a sale.)

Were you a fan of Brewdog & decided to invest in the firm thought their crowdfunding runs from 2009-2021?
If you did, I'm afraid to tell you (if you don't know already) that the purchase (and selective closures) of Brewdog's business & brand(s) by Tilray Brands means that your investment has been lost completely.
Whatever the fine details, this is hardly the news an investment friendly Chancellor would want.
Makes those CashISAa look pretty attractive, doesn't it?
