After the Commission rightly imposed a fine on Google today for non-compliance with the #DMA, US Trade Representative Greer now threatens the EU with retaliation. He said the fine poses a "real risk" to transatlantic trade. The EU should stay firm. No one has the right to challenge our tech rules, neither Big Tech nor the US government.

With a couple of days of delay, the @EUCommission just hit #Google with a €2.95B fine for abusing its dominant position on the online ads market. 👏
After some bad press according to which the Commission had delayed the fines to appease Trump, this is a welcome development. Google now has 60 days to propose remedies. (I had hoped the Commission would order a breakup directly but hey....)
