Couple paragraphs on Audrey Hepburn/Holly Golightly/classic movies in chapter 4 of Butter (p. 100-102).
"Between Truman Capote's original novel and the film adaptation, there was a big difference both in Holly's personality and the ending to her story. With Hepburn portraying her, Golightly had come to be known as a metropolitan pixie with a lucid, ethereal quality, but the original Holly was a failed actress turned high-class hooker. Dating was her only profession and she went flitting from man to man, seeking only her own comfort."
Which makes me recall that I've never read Breakfast... despite reading a lot of other Capote, and despite having been obsessed with the film in my late teens/early 20s. Hmmm...

You HAVE to make time to watch #BreakfastAtTiffanys, which despite the racist portrayal of #MickeyRooney in #YellowFace as Heartburn's (Holly GoLightly's) upstairs neighbor, is one of my fave movies of all time.
It's ranked 61st in one the AFI's list of 100 best movies ever made & the AFI later ranked the movie's theme song -- #MoonRiver at 4th of 109 mobies for the best song.

The only cat to win 2 PATSY Awards - From the school of animal handler Frank Inn. His 1st win was for Rhubarb the Millionaire Cat. He won again, 10 years later for his performance as Cat in Breakfast at Tiffany's, opposite Audrey Hepburn. Other roles included Mouschi, in The Diary of Anne Frank, Butch, in The Incredible Shrinking Man, + the cat in Batman (alongside Eartha Kitt's Catwoman). Orangey was an ornery actor, often described as the meanest cat in Hollywood - known for biting and scratching his co-stars - but he was prized for his ability to stay on set for long hours. Orangey had many stand-ins for his acting roles - as many as 36 different cats in his debut as Rhubarb!
