  3. Three little kids from our neighbourhood were selling bracelets (two girls, one boy, just to break any stereotypes) and now I have the coolest wrist (well, I think so anyway) ✨

  7. @christineburns Excellent comparison!

But #Bray lacks Southport's exotic political fauna. LibDem MP Ronnie Fearn was also a legendary #pantomime dame.

Whereas Bray has to make do with frenetic boy wonder #SimonHarris, who looks like he's waiting for his voice to break. He's a social media native whose entire life has been politics, known as the #TikTokTaoiseach until he was demoted to #TikTokTanaiste.

  9. @christineburns Ah, you know the territory a bit. #Bray was Victorian glory which had turned to shit by the time I was at school there in the early 70s. All peeling paint and sleazy amusement arcades. Not so much faded glory as crumbled.

I developed more of a taste for it when I campaigned there for my pal Liam in the Nov 82 election. I liked the people.

Now there is money in Bray again. But if you don't have the contrasting memories of its worst days, it's probably just damp Victoriana.
