The clouds have been a nice reprieve from the last few days heat. Unfortunately not a lot of protection from the wind and scattered rain.

Woke up to rain at Antelope Lake this morning. Very peaceful listening to that and the birds.
Today’s forecast calls for rain and thunderstorms until just before lunch followed by windy conditions. Winds of 15-33km/h with gusts up to 56km/h.

Honestly feels decent compared to yesterday.The pavement changes up ahead at the Graham county line. We’ll see how that affects the pace going forward.

We got the van out of the ditch last night and camped where we were.
Anton just left to get started early. It’s going to be a hot one again today so walking is now in two shifts, morning and evening.

One of the local sheriff’s deputies met Anton at the end of his walk today and generously offered to drive him back to town for the night, saving us the trip.
We’ll spend the night in Hugo again for the minimal services it has. Looking bleak after this for a while.
