For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s woman in skull (2016), not a brain per se, but the part of the skull where the brain sits, imagined as an architectural space.

For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s neuraesthenia (2017), a piece depicting the heaviness I feel during post-exertional malaise (PEM). PEM often starts in my cognition then spreads out through my body.

🧠 The PREDICTOM project showed that a brain scan called an EEG can distinguish between healthy people & those with subtle symptoms of #AlzheimersDisease. 🙌 EEGs are low-cost & widely accessible, enabling early detection & better outcomes.

Good sleep hygiene is necessary for brain health! We spend one-third of our lives sleeping, so it’s crucial to understand how it impacts the brain and how we function. #BrainAwarenessWeek #BrainWeek

📚 We have a large portfolio of projects working on Alzheimer's disease. Last year we held a workshop to identify hot topics and key areas where public-private research could have an impact in the future, building on what has been delivered so far.

Have you heard people identify as left-brained or right-brained? It’s a common myth that people’s personalities are tied to a dominant side of their brain, but the truth isn’t that simple. #BrainAwarenessWeek #BrainWeek

One popular topic in neuroscience news right now is brain organoids. But what are they? These lab-grown models are a powerful new tool for advancing neuroscience and understanding how the brain develops, but they also raise important social and ethical questions worth thinking about as the science moves forward. #BrainAwarenessWeek #Sciart

🧠 There are now treatments that effectively slow the progress of Alzheimer's disease for certain groups of patients. However, getting them to the right patients remains a challenge.
💡New project ACCESS-AD aims to deliver tools and strategies to help healthcare systems to identify solutions that will enhance the care of people living with Alzheimer’s disease, and deploy them at the scale needed.

From pushing objects as babies to chatting with friends, we learn through living in a body. AI has no such experience.
This #BrainAwarenessWeek, we asked leading neuroscientists what AI might be missing without a body.

Please save the date for #BrainAwarenessWeek - March 16-22 🧠
I have been following and celebrating this global brain campaign since I was a PhD so for me it was a special treat when the Dana Foundation invited me to collaborate on this year's social media toolkit.

Finishing off #brainawarenessweek with this screen print I designed for @lok_zine a few years ago - it has been hanging in my studio ever since and it makes me so happy. I hope I can find the time to do more of this work! ❤️💛💙
