  1. There is still some debate about what Brain Fog is, how to define it, and what it means (it's not one thing), despite it being associated with more than a dozen chronic diseases. Some people try to outline definitions now.

  2. I’ve finished a book. That might be the blandest statement ever, but I haven’t been able to concentrate on anything over a couple of pages at the same time for years, putting me off reading (besides the brain rot that everyone -including me- is suffering from).

This was an easy read, now unsure whether to go see the film despite the good reviews. Maybe read The Martian instead?

  3. Day 4: "Brain fog" has a "foggy" definition. The term is used to describe symptoms across multiple disorders, from fibromyalgia to long Covid to hypothyroidism, but it's unclear whether this is the same symptom with a shared neurobiological mechanism or multiple ones bundled into the same definitional trenchcoat. Why would that matter though? Because what's not properly defined cannot be properly operationalized, i.e. it makes it difficult to study, understand, and treat.
(This post has been inspired by a particularly rough allergy day. Because where's the fun in life if the air isn't trying to kill you sometimes? For a more scientific coverage of the topic, I found this article interesting: cell.com/trends/neurosciences/)

  4. Before #sarcoidosis I could throw some stuff in a bag the night before (or even the day of) a trip and be reasonably certain I packed the essentials (but somehow unexplicably I’ve ended up with many plug travel converters). I wouldn’t say the stress was healthy, but it did work.

These days I’ve to take a few days off before and make a list to make sure I’ve got everything, and have my house in *some* order for the cat sitter.

I *am* #grateful though I still can make trips

  5. Good morning tooters. A warmish night of 8c & it’s going to get to 25c today & so far no sun, there’s a lot of cloud around but I think it’ll clear.
I slept really well last night but am feeling kind of foggy in my head, I don’t know if it has anything to do with the flu jab yesterday 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’m sure it’ll pass as the morning progresses. I intend to stay home today & do some work in the garden out the back but first I’m going to do a yoga class & I think I’ll try one I haven’t done before. That’ll focus this foggy brain - hopefully.
    Have a wonderful #Wednesday everyone, hope it’s a great day for you all, stay safe out there 🌻. #Weather #Exercise #Garden #BrainFog

  6. Good...2 hours of work and I have worked up a client contract, send an invoice, **** an email and then fixed it, shared about my comicbook a bit, and thanked my ko-fi supporters who wanted their names on the page. <3

(The thank you - your-name-on-page offer still stands for 3 days by the way, so if you want to support me and be thanked - go to: ko-fi.com/hiisikolo_art )

  7. Battling #brainfog as a part of a severe #Depression is no fun, therefore I am going on with one small step at a time.
I decided to reinstall my home #server with a clean #debian #trixie , got a #ghost #blog , #nginx and #kuma installed so far and tomorrow I will continue with hardening the setup with #ssl and #firewall ...and then I might start writing again.
What a journey for an absolutely non-skilled person in any tech.
I like it, and especially doing it the #foss way and connecting with like-minded people here on #mastodon .
So, have a nice day and weekend ahead!

  9. Today's small pleasure is finishing my little todo notebook. I actually used it! Turns out I was right: having a couple cute pens and a very bright notebook does help me remember to make plans and check them through the day

  10. Sorry I wasn't around yesterday. In my bleary morning haze I managed to unintentionally take two doses of morning meds. Realising this later in the morning, I had to ask wifey to go through the day's meds and make sure I only had access to what was now allowable to stop me accidentally overdosing.

The end result wasn't a pain-free morning, just dulled somewhat, but the lack of meds later in the day disabled me and I felt unable to do anything.

  11. @spiegelmama
I've made these kinds of errors since I was a teenager ☺️

Once when I was 32 I parked in a garage that you had to enter through a casino. Going back to my car they just asked my age at the door and I said 27..... No idea where that number even came from.

  12. Sat up to play a game for review. Then, worked on my game, figuring out scoring balance. Now I feel like I'm missing a lobe.

Husband playtested final, and he really enjoyed the mechanic. Yay!

  13. Heute geht es für ein paar Tage nach Düsseldorf. Mit kleinem Gepäck. Das große bleibt hier im Hotel.
Mal sehen, was ich da wieder vergessen werde.

  14. Actual conversation with my very patient 18yo son last night.

Me: I'm sorry, kiddo, I'm all out of that short term, uh ...

    Him: Memory.

    Me: Yeah, memory. Short-term memory.
