Having already finished one Christmas project, it’s time to tick off another one.

This time to build a Brachiograph. This is a simple pen plotter that is based around an arm with a “shoulder” and “elbow” joints that are hobby servos (there is a 3rd servo to lift the pen/pencil off the paper).

‘Twas the day after a 4 day open studio weekend, and…
I’m going to take it pretty easy, I think!

Here’s one of the little robots #plotterart I worked on with my #brachiograph at the art show. I also did some work with the large-format vintage DXY-1100 #penplotter that I’ll try to share later, but I don’t plan to go in to the studio for a few days.

From the #WimbledonArtFair and studio today - impromptu collab with my #brachiograph to create this. A robot drew a robot (and I helped out at the end). #penplotter

- build web sandbox for #ch35t
- build a #brachiograph
- finish reading #homeland
- do some indoor bouldering
- play #turingcomplete
- play #projectzomboid

What I actually did:

- an as beautiful as unplanned trip to Cliveden House and Windsor
- a bouldering session
- read Homeland (far from finishing it though!)
- read quite a lot of #manga
- took two loooong baths
- ate one Magnum (required for the brachiograph)

@SebastianM6L 2 weeks ago I used an old Raspberry Pi 1 for a #brachiograph

I did the whole project with a 12 years old kid. He loved it.

Machine ready and working. A bit too broad pen with too much ink. #DIY #BrachioGraph #PenPlotter. Cheap and nice toy. The next is to create a webserver with a page to input photos, transform them to SVG/JSON and start printing.

Put together a BrachioGraph drawing robot this week. At most 90 minutes of half hearted futzing to get it all together following the instructions and videos. Needed to get a couple of $1 servos and popsicles sticks but had an original RPI, jumper wires, clothes pin, glue gun and breadboard on hand.
