Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen ONEUS – Rupert’s drop.
ONEUS often release songs that appeal to me, but I’ve been surprised at just how often I’ve been going back to this ballad over the past few days. As well as being engaged by the music from the acoustic guitar opening, I was taken with the pink and blue outfits.
The title caught my attention immediately; I already knew what a Rupert ‘s drop or Prince Rupert’s drop was, so I wondered if it might provide a metaphor for a compound of stoicism and vulnerability. I’ll append a video on Rupert’s drops as a reply to this post.
I’m also appending the Wikipedia entry on Prince Rupert, partly because he interests me and partly because I want to challenge those misguided British individuals who mistakenly project today’s left/right politics backwards into the 17th century Wars of the Three Kingdoms by thinking of Parliament as “progressive” and their opponents as “reactionary”.

Good song with great styling.
Although I am much more of a girl group fan, VIXX would often hit the spot with me.
I wonder if they resemble SHINee in being a boy group that appeals to fans of girl groups.

The song is good too, with good vocals and some nice guitar sounds. VIXX might have been "concept kings" but the music was good too!

#sycophancy and #Boygroups are the norm in the #tech industry, and with that, you get a lot of dancing around the lillies, shoulder rubbing, ego messaging, pissing contests, humble bragging and low key demoralization disguised as "intellectual discourse".
This is what defines the cult like environments found in #siliconvalley and is the type of nepotistic grouping that ultimately leads to corruption.
