  1. Brian May: The Badgers, the Farmers and Me - BBC iPlayer.
TB skin testing is ineffective so a 'clean' bull may have TB. Better sanitation & hygiene on farms. Cow poo from infected cows can spread the disease. Watch what you do with the slurry. Badgers probably catch it from the cows.

  6. So it's illegal to test cows for TB without permission from the govt. Which means if the govt are determined to kill badgers there is no way to experiment with other ways of preventing TB. Any research is only with govt permission.

  12. "Over four years, researchers vaccinated 265 badgers across 12 farms in Cornwall. They found the percentage of badgers testing positive for bTB fell from 16% to zero.

“It’s the best result you could get from a small study,” said the lead researcher, Prof Rosie Woodroffe, from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL)."

  22. As far as I know, the main reason for not vaccinating dairy cattle against TB is that a vaccine would mean the milk would fail TB detection tests. But with Brexit, surely - since virtually all milk is sold locally - this gives a chance for the island of Britain to limit all milk to local sale, then vaccinate all cows and all humans, and wipe out bovine TB in a generation while protecting humans (especially as the BCG vaccine may protect against dementia)
