#Bouvet Island was the main target today while I once more #POTA activated DE-0192 this afternoon. I decided to build up the antenna for 10 to 15 m this time. The bad news is I didn't even hear 3Y0K. But #10m and #12m was a very good decision. 50 QSO of which 49 were #DX!
A real bunch of US stations worked me, and South America was open as well: Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
And South Africa! And Caribbean stations! Oh my!

Los únicos habitantes de Bouvet son sus aves. La isla cuenta con más de una docena de especies diferentes, incluyendo pingüinos. Su vegetación es pobre, y se compone sobre todo de líquenes. Al carecer de puertos no es posible aproximarse a ella en barco, así que, si se quiere alcanzar Nyrøysa (uno de los pocos lugares accesibles), la mejor manera de hacerlo es en helicóptero.

Die Insel ist auf dem Breitengrad 54° Süd. Auf der Nordhalbkugel entspricht das z.B. Schleswig-Holstein.

Is anyone doing anything special to prepare for #3Y0J / #Bouvet Island dxpedition? It's pretty much just ocean between my QTH and there, so I don't know if they are in a null on my Windom. I'm not opposed to throwing together some monoband beam (if I have enough free time), but if I can't hit them, my backup plan is to operate from my Elmer's shack using the hexbeam on his tower. 😜
I will be going through the WSJX dxpedition mode instructions before then.
