#Bourboulenc is an ancient white #grape from the region surrounding Avignon, valued for its vigor, its nutty, floral character, and its ability to maintain acids in warm climates. The original 0.67 acre block at #TablasCreek, from 2016, was the first outside France.

A beauty shot as we head into the weekend that has significance beyond that.
This block, at the westernmost edge of #TablasCreek, is one of America's more interesting (read: obscure) #vineyard blocks. The site is home to several of our rarest #grape varieties, including #Vaccarese, #Picardan, #TerretNoir, #Bourboulenc, and #ClairetteBlanche. Their journey to the US included a stay in quarantine at UC Davis from 7 to as long as 13 years.
