I'm in England, and my local library has BorrowBox, not Libby. I'd be interested if anyone has comparative data between them, i.e. to what extent your thread applies to all similar businesses. ...?

In the UK at least:
- Interlibrary loans are free or cheap, which gives you access to a huge catalogue
- Many have access to #Audiobooks and #eBooks via #BorrowBox
- You can access magazines! I like #Wired, #NewScientist, #BBCGoodFood, #NationalGeographic but there's many more via #Libby

Your taxes pay for this, and it's shocking how many people still pay for these #subscriptions separately!

I've discovered #BorrowBox today. I don't know if all #libraries are signed up, but through those that are, if you have a libary card, you get free access to books, magazines and papers through your phone. I've spent much of today ambling through The Rugby Paper, BBC History Magazine, a couple of naff knitting magazines and now BBC Easy Food which is giving me lots of ideas for easy meals, as I've got a bit bored with meals lately. It's an incredible system.

3.I downloaded an e book from #borrowbox, a free service from my local #library

@eobeara As a long time Kobo user, I'm active on the MobileReads forums and Irish users there have always had good things to say about #BorrowBox . Since I personally would rather perform DIY root canal with a rusty spoon than use audiobooks, I don't feel it absence here much. 😀

@ronsboy67 In Ireland we have #BorrowBox a free audiobook service from our public libraries. It needs some input to broaden its available titles, but I use it regularly.

Does anyone have experience using a #Kobo device with #BorrowBox for reading ebooks. I have looked around on the web and it seems you need an Adobe ID (really just hate adobe) and the process seems just...arcane. What am I missing? Is Kobo incompatible?
