@petealexharris The #UK wants to be increasingly friendly with the European Union #EU. The EU includes the Republic of Ireland. The Republic of Ireland could, through the EU, make refusing a #BorderPoll extremely costly for the UK.
However, that would depend on the Irish government really wanting a #UnitedIreland, which, even though #SinnFein are currently in power, just ain't necessarily so.

Hard to refuse a #BorderPoll in #Ireland on these sort of numbers. Hard to approve a Border Poll without also granting #ScottishIndependence and #WelshIndependence referenda.

There goes the Good Friday Agreement, if God forbid any of these nutters get into power! As the #ECHR underpins the entire Agreement.
So like Johnson, who left NI in the CU for goods to get #Brexit done. Will #Jenrick destroy the NI peace process so he can be mean to people who don't look like him or will he announce it is time to get rid of Northern Ireland and start calling for #BorderPoll
