I've taken a few minutes to do some actual writing in Obsidian on my new Boox Go 10.3 (Gen II) Lumi tablet (they need a shorter name for that thing).
The experience wasn't as fluid as on my Mac, but it certainly wasn't objectionable. Using my Logitech MX Keys Mini Bluetooth keyboard, I found lag to be minimal, just barely noticeable and not at all a hindrance. I haven't explored the tablet's various eInk modes to see if they make any difference.
The reviews said the Go 10.3 has ghosting issues (the tendency of the eInk screen to retain faint remnants of previous contents). The ghosting is definitely there, but I find it easy to ignore, at least while writing. There are easy gestures to set up to refresh the screen on demand to remove ghosts.
I'll eventually write a blog post exploring the new Go experience, and will link to it here, but that'll be a week or two in the future.

@Bishopjoey I have an Note Air 1, and am very happy with it. However, I'm using it with Tusky and Zotero. So wouldn't know about Kobo.

Boox makes e-ink Android tablets for reading and sketching. I really liked the Poke3, and used it as my main ebook reader for almost 5 years, but it's showing its age and struggling with newer apps. I finally replaced it with the Go 7 Color and it's been a drastic improvement!
It's a lot faster, so it can handle today's apps, the touch screen is way more responsive, and it's so nice to have physical buttons for page turning again.
The color isn't as sharp as the black ink, and it tends toward pastels, but it's good for diagrams , and for using apps/websites that assume you have a color display.
