Learning to Code Without a Map: Mentorship and Entry Paths in the Post-Bootcamp Era
I’ve been disconnected from the junior and hiring scene since I stepped back into an individual contributor role. Recently, though, a friend of mine decided they wanted to get into the field. I poked my head up and looked around, and I was shocked at what I found. This talk is a great overview of what’s different today compared to six years ago, and what can be done about it.

It must be difficult to find a #University with a poorer curriculum for a #ComputerScience degree than #ECU in #Perth, #Australia. No wonder ECU is locally considered a glorified #TAFE (vocational school). I am sure there are Coding #Bootcamps that are more challenging than this programme! 🤦

Today is graduation day for our students, and my last day of work before the new year. It's always incredible to see their final projects and celebrate their achievements as they go out into the world as new developers. Congrats baby coders!
