All Restrictions Lifted on Boone Fire

Cal Fire has the Boone Fire 83% contained, holding steady with 17,600 acres burned.

All Evac orders and warnings have been lifted in this area west of Coalinga. Previously blocked off roads have reopened as well.

Evacuation Orders have been issued for Zone P22A.
Note Zone P22 has been split into 2 zones with P22A being an Order and P22B remaining under a Warning.

Evacuation Warnings have been issued for Zones:
P23, P20, P17 & P11.

The evacuation zones can be viewed on the Watch Duty map or via the Fresno County evacuation map.

At the time of my post the perimeter shown in the screenshot was mapped at 11:09am today (Wednesday) and covers 6,550 acres.

Dark symbols on the map are heat detections by MODIS and VIIRS satellites. This data is not real time and locations are approximate.

Never rely on any map or anything you see online to ignore an order to evacuate. The fire officials have information that you do not.

Radio traffic indicates the fire has jumped Bear Canyon Rd, is now well established and is making a run up to Juniper Ridge.

The fire has been mapped at a revised size of 6,550 acres per CAL FIRE intel aircraft.

A large wildfire is burning to the west and northwest of Coalinga in Fresno County. The so-called Boone Fire, which started around noon on Tuesday, has scorched 11,000 acres and is currently 5% contained. Cal Fire is actively fighting this blaze and is bringing in more resources today. A command post has been setup off of Hwy. 198, between Lucille and Firestone Avenues in Coalinga.

The fire is in the Los Gatos Creek area, which features a lot of open land and few homes. The Sheriff’s Office has identified approximately three dozen homes that are in the path of the fire.

Air Attack has requested night flying copters for tonight and has requested 3 type 3 tankers and 4 type 1 copters for tomorrow.
