  16. The Dept. Q pilot is moody, gripping, and on its way to be a very faithful adaptation of The Keeper of Lost Causes with a Scottish twist that somehow just works. Goode broods, Manvelov smolders, and I'm officially hooked.

  17. #Movies #Wicked #Books #BookToScreen #FightAntiWokeness

Spent some enjoyable moments in the news comments sections calling out the snowflakes who are stirring up fake outrage about Wicked.

People are so dumb. Don't go if you don't want to see it, but don't look stupid saying it will be a HUGE disaster when it makes a ton of money and people like it.

Akso don't complain about the run time (5+ hours over two movies) because you think it's based on the stage version. The advertising could be doing a better job of this, to be honest.

  20. There are two types of sci-fi fans:

    1. The ones who understand that movies must adapt the original works to create something that approximates what's on the page and are thankful they got a movie.

    2. The ones who go entirely apoplectic because the movie "took liberties" and "totally destroyed" the work and "How dare they do that to [insert title here]!"

  22. Just watched the Lady Chatterley’s Lover adaptation on #netflix , confirming I remember even less about that book than I thought.
    .
I can’t imagine the book gave Connie even a glimmer of a happy ending . Did it?! Still have a copy, but can’t be bothered to re-read it.
