  1. Myths of the Night by Fizza Younis

Do you enjoy reading fantasy novels?

Myths of the Night is a novel that follows five individuals from four different worlds as they struggle to choose between light and darkness.

What makes us good or bad?

These characters’ internal struggles will bring you closer to an answer. Mixed with magic and mystery, the story takes you on an adventure that ultimately leads to self-discovery.

What is Myths of the Night all About?

The paths of five individuals from four different worlds are destined to intertwine, shaking the very foundation of reality. When Sameer embarks on a quest to find a missing friend, little does he know that his journey will entangle him with murders, vindictive witches, misunderstood Grim Reapers, happy fairies, and lonely demons.

As secrets begin to unravel, the fate of their worlds hangs in the balance, and each character must find their place in this complex web of mystery and magic or risk losing themselves forever. The clock is ticking, and the stakes are higher than they could have imagined.

Amidst the wonders and dangers of their diverse worlds, these individuals must confront their deepest fears and desires. Will they rise above the shadows threatening to consume them, or will their worlds be forever lost to the Myths of the Night?

  9. My Top Six Reads of 2026

The year 2026 has been a rollercoaster ride so far. It has been such a depressing year, personally and internationally, that I don’t know what I would’ve done without books. Times like these remind you of the importance of writers and artists.

We keep the world going around.

Thank God that even in this materialistic world, we haven’t lost passion for things that don’t always make money. (I know because I’m a full-time writer)

    Anyway.

It’s July, and we’re at the midpoint of 2026, which I feel is the perfect time to reflect, recharge, and talk about books. (ahem ahem)

The Fifth Doll by Charlie N. Holmberg

The story follows Matrona, who lives in an isolated village where nothing ever changes and everyone is happy. Life is simple, and it seems as if it might be too good to be true.

One day, when she visits a local tradesman, Salava, she discovers a secret that will change everything. Soon, she will learn the real reason their small village is suspended in time.

It’s a thrilling fantasy tale that will make you wish it never ends. The story is fast-paced, and you won’t even see the twists coming. It has some of the most interesting fantasy characters. At first, it may read like a historical fiction, but it is a fantasy. And in the end, you will love everything that makes it so.

    I highly recommend the audiobook.

Fable & Namesake (The World of the Narrows) Duology by Adrienne Young

Fable is the first book and part of the original The World of the Narrows duology. I have read the entire series, but the duology is my absolute favorite.

The story is set in a fictional world full of dangers and adventure on the high seas. It follows Fable’s character trying to navigate the treacherous waters. I’m in general not a YA fiction fan, but this one was worth the read.

The story has been on my TBR for a while, but I am so glad that I finally read it.

Highly recommended for YA or Fantasy/Adventure fans!

    Death Row by Freida McFadden

Talia Kemper is on death row for murdering her husband. She had an alibi and no known motive, yet Talia’s unwavering protestations of innocence have always been ignored. Then one day in the visiting area, she sees a recognizable stranger she’s certain is her husband. It turns out the man she’s been convicted of killing may not be dead after all. But as the days tick away toward Talia’s execution, what will it take for her to be believed?

It’s a thrilling and quick read, perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.

The Fourth Daughter by Lyn Liao Butler

Chef Liv Kuo’s star is on the rise…until a traumatic incident leaves her emotionally unable to venture outside her Manhattan apartment. But an unexpected reason to break free comes from Ah-Ma, Liv’s beloved grandmother in Taiwan. Ah-Ma needs Liv’s help in finding her fourth daughter, taken from her when the girl was an infant. After all these years, it seems impossible. It’s also a Ah-Ma’s fourth daughter is an aunt Liv never even knew existed.

After landing in Taiwan, Liv hears the heartbreaking story of her grandmother’s plight in a country once under martial law, of choices made for her, and of the hopeful search for a lost girl that has endured for more than sixty years. Like the enriching food and traditions that bind Liv and Ah-Ma, their journey for answers brings them together.

And it’s a quest that turns up both a precious old cookbook and a tale of fatal betrayal that shakes everything Liv believed about her family—revelations that could also give her the courage to face the trauma she left behind.

A perfect story for readers who aren’t scared of emotions. Be ready to shed some tears. But don’t worry, it ends in a very satisfying way and on a happy note.

The Poet Empress by Shen Tao

Now, this one is a very unique kind of book. I want to recommend it, yet I don’t want to recommend it. Because it will rip your heart in two.

The only thing that makes it a little better is knowing that the story is fictional and a fantasy. Although history’s pages are full of such tragic tales as well. At least, this one didn’t actually happen.

Anyway, read it at your own peril. You have been warned.

    About the Story:

In the waning years of the Azalea Dynasty, the emperor is dying, the land consumed by famine, and poetry magic lost to all except the powerful.

Wei Yin is desperate. After the fifth death of a sibling, with her family and village on the brink of starvation, she will do anything to save those she loves.

Even offer herself as a concubine to the cruel heir of the beautiful and brutal Azalea House.

But in a twist of fate, the palace stands on the knife-edge of civil war, with Wei trapped in its center…at the side of a violent prince.

To survive, Wei must harden her heart, rely on her wit, and become dangerous herself. Even if it means becoming a poet in a world where women are forbidden to read—and composing the most powerful spell of all. A ballad of death…and love.

  13. I’ve Got a Secret (Well, Not Anymore): My Books Are Now on iBooks!

I still remember the first time I held a story I’d written in my hands. It felt like magic. Today, I get to feel that magic all over again, because I’m thrilled to announce that my books have arrived in the Apple Books store! Whether you’re curled up on the couch with an iPad, sneaking a chapter on your iPhone during lunch, or diving in on your Mac, you can now carry my stories with you anywhere.

    Here’s what’s waiting for you:

    Dead Heart Longing

    Genre: Fantasy/romance

If you enjoy romantasy and stories revolving around myths and legends, you will love this book.

    Blurb:

Enter a reality where the living and the dead coexist.

Gesar, who was once a mighty king, now roams an ancient Tibetan castle as a ghost. His heart, as cold as the snow-covered mountain tops and consumed with bitterness, melts when he meets Nur. Untouched Petals of Our Hearts

    Genre: Poetry

Sometimes, words are all we have. And in our deepest moments, they are never enough.

This collection lives in that sacred, aching space between solace, sorrow, and beautifully complex moments of life. These poems are at once heartwarming and heart-wrenching. Here, you will find verses that cradle heartache and kindle joy, often within the same line. These poems are perfect for anyone who has ever sought refuge in language. Let them be a gentle companion, offering not answers, but understanding; not a cure, but a balm of love and hope, one verse at a time.

    Danger Dead Ahead

    Genre: Cozy mystery/murder mystery

    About the Story:

Even the known roads we take can bring us to unexpected turns that alter the course of our lives. When Jahan Fatima decides to give up her job to travel the treacherous mountains of Northern Pakistan, she doesn’t expect it to involve murder and mayhem. Soon, her quest for justice will lead her down a perilous path where myths and legends come alive.

Sometimes, familiar trips down memory lane can take you to places you’ve never explored, and that can change your perception of reality. When Maalik returns to Chitral, he doesn’t plan on reopening the old wounds. Yet, some events are so painful that no amount of time can erase the agony. Soon, his curiosity will take him down a dangerous road where his past comes back to haunt him.

Together, Jahan and Maalik make an unlikely pair of sleuths. Yet, they might be the only ones interested in uncovering the truth behind the gruesome death of a mutual friend.
