  1. I was the copyeditor on this Norton Professional Books title, (published 3/28/23). I think it is a great reference text not only for clinicians who hope to run an RPG for their clients, but also for teachers and anyone else who'd like to use RPGs to bolster and support young people.

Dr. Connell explains how tabletop RPGs can help preteens/teens learn to set boundaries, take risks, stand up for themselves, problem solve, and build communities.

  2. Many of my #memoir clients are journalists. Here's what I tell them: Don't write in newspaper style, but it is helpful to think like a journalist. What is the headline? What is the nut graf? Why should readers care? Identify newsworthiness, then themes will pop out. #amediting #bookeditor #writingcommunity

  3. Oh my gosh. I just ran a macro on a book manuscript to start creating my terms list of every proper noun in the book, and the time it took my new-ish computer (I blinked) was so fast that it made me literally LOL with joy. I didn't have time to get up and stroll to the kitchen for a snack, get the mail, etc.! #FTW #AmEditing #BookEditor #Publishing #ThisIsWhatAutomationIsForNOTWriting

  4. PSA: If you're a #writer hiring a book editor on a middleman site (like #Reedsy) also google to see if that editor has an indie business website, and then contract with them directly. You won't pay the +10% fee and neither will your editor.

  5. #TIL: There are glow-in-the-dark bubbles. File this knowledge under "you never know what you'll learn on any given day as an editor." It's one of the aspects that makes it fun, even after 20-plus years.
