The French Revolution of 1789 was federalist. #Bonaparte's coup d'état in 1799 led to a new regime, the Consulate.
While legislative power had been at the heart of the French Revolution, it was crushed in 1799 and replaced by an omnipotent executive power, concentrated in the hands of one man who made it his own.
It was no longer elected officials who make decisions, but civil servants. The constitution was used to transform citizens into subjects.
The concentration was accompanied by a bloody colonial reaction in Guadeloupe and Saint-Domingue, along with the re-instatement of slavery in 1802.

@truhe wir haben uns im #FestSaalKreuzberg von #Bonaparte beschallen lassen.
Dafür, daß das mal Werkhallen der BVG waren, mit Wellblech Dach, war der Sound sehr OK.
Wenn der Main Act läuft, kommste nicht mehr so gut zum Bar Thresen.Vor allem wenn du schon früh dort ankommst, und dich auf der Empore mit guten Überblick platzierst, dann ist die Treppe dahin auch mit Publikum voll.

Ich hatte 2019 mal das Vergnügen Patti Smith im Pierre Boulez Saal zu sehen. Ein intimer Rahmen. So nah ist man Künstler:innen selten. Exzellente Akustik inklusive.
Gestern Abend dann der Schweizer #Bonaparte mit einem "ruhigen" Konzert der laufenden The Quiet & the Riot-Tour. Das war ein anarchistisches, theaterähnliches Erlebnis für alle Sinne. Und mit viel Liebe. Liebe zur Musik, zum Detail, zum Publikum und der Protagonisten untereinander. "Keine Zukunft nur Gegenwart" -
#Bonaparte hat Biermann gecovert. Ein ordentliches Musikbrett. Gefällt mir. Und der Text von 'Ermutigung' ist sehr aktuell.
