Although Jerí’s appointment followed constitutional norms, his government appears to have gained scant legitimacy. On the night of 9 October, the congressional long knives came out for Dina Boluarte, forcing her out of the presidency of #Peru. Following her near-unanimous impeachment, she joins the list of ex-presidents, most of whom are in jail. Hundreds of young people took to the streets of #Lima, #Cusco, #Trujillo, #Arequipa and #Huancayo to protest against the government of Dina #Boluarte on the weekend of the 20 and 21 September. On 15 September, the Boluarte government promulgated the detailed regulations governing the controversial APCI Law designed to clip the wings of #NGOs and to prevent them representing victims of human rights crimes against the Peruvian state.
