    Yes, The #BoltzmannBrain hypothesis is refuted by evidence. Just look out of a window and you see the entire world NOT collapsing into nothing in a nanosecond. But it is a useful probe regarding probability and how we should think about it, especially in the context of #Cosmology.

  2. I was just re-reading "Why Boltzmann Brains Are Bad", by Sean Carrol [1]. There Carroll notes (on page 13) that

    "There is a possibility of confusion here, due to the sloppy way in which physicists use the word “quantum fluctuation.” It’s helpful to distinguish between three different notions [44]."
