It's also about a lot of research being about foundation work, which never sees the light of day, but without which the visible research buildings would lack strength.
The stuff I did on information categorisation based on perception, used #Husserl and #Ingarden with a bit of #Boisot for the time dimensions. What I added might be useful to someone, but I doubt I'll ever know.

@robfwalter My research area was about perception of information, and how it's categorised (as opposed to classified.) There's a fascinating economist, Boisot, who looked at the information lifecycle. It might rekindle your interest.
