This is the second Heat Warning of summer, and the first time it hasn't cooled sufficiently overnight, hence the wee hours AC. (They're named that because that's when old folks have to get up to wee.)

In the continuous quest of Being Clever, I've placed the router beneath the defunct gas heater register and roofed it with a flattened six-pack. It generates a surprising amount of heat.

Went to bed early, although it it took me quite a while to fall asleep –didn't feel like reading. Perspiration too, for that matter. (Needful helping of Tillamook Marion Berry Ice cream was to die for.) 7hr 21m; awoke at 2:30 a.m., unusually. Sleep Score: Fair.

Coffee on the Famous NE Deck. "It's quite pleasant."

It was 29.6 ℃.

After a full #housetours day, and with the AC on full blast throughout the night, I slept well at #cicnyzskalenjo and awoke to 24 ℃, which is as good as it gets short of turning off the PC and sleeping in the Computer Suite.

Didn't sleep well. Took me ages to fall asleep, for one thing. Awoke at 3:30 a.m. and stayed that way.

Bedroom 28.0 ℃, Computer Suite 29.7, outside 23.2; I'd turned the AC off overnight. To see what the breeze would do.

Ninny. I didn't throw all the windows open last night. Slept eight hours had good REM nonetheless... I'll certainly be airing out #cicnyzskalenjo as we march into the Extended Heat Watch (which officially begins Monday)....

Mind you, it's not just the high temperatures, it's also the duration of the #heatwave, and the concomitant insufficient physiological cooling overnight.

I suspect this'll creep up on a lot of people, and we're used to hot summer #boisewx.

Boiseans are talking as if it's summer already. The summer solstice is this year is 2024-06-20 20:51 UTC. That said my first steady use of the window AC this spring, as in running it overnight, was last night. Just as well I killed a computer.

I usually keep closer track of this, but I didn't reset the digitial thermostat on the famous NE Deck on the winter solstice. The highest from the autumnal equinox to New Year's Eve was 31.6 ℃ and the lowest -6.7.

The Computer Suite: 29.5 ℃/8.1 (I've begun tracking the efficiency of the window's thermal sheeting; the room proper has I think gotten as low as ~12).
