Many people enjoy getting out into nature. Including me, of course: I love a hike as much as the next guy.
But my idea of getting stuck in is certainly different to most. The muddier, the wetter, the swampier I can get, the better. I can't go past a pond, ditch or swamp without wondering how deep it is.
Occasionally I get to find out. This one? In places, I couldn't feel the bottom 😍

I was out in the country, exploring areas off the trails like I often do, when I encountered this innocent-looking drainage ditch. The water calmly trickled past the reeds. Nobody was around.
It turned out to be a thigh deep swamp and I plunged in well over my wellies. Oops!
I didn't hurry to get out.

I had a rare opportunity to do this insane drive, so I picked a spot that the map suggested was boggy, and
And the closest to "fucked" I got was nothing to do with getting stuck in the bog. I got my first flat tyre, typically when I was furthest away from home. So today also saw my first ever tyre change! Thank fuck my car carries a full sized spare wheel.
