Ich hatte eine schöne internationale Body-Doubling-Runde, wo wir 1x die Woche 5-10 Min gequatscht haben, dann 1h Mikro (& Kamera optional) aus und deep work.
Leider hat die sich aufgelöst - hat jemand Lust? Dann würde ich evtl. selbst eine starten.

Letztens habe ich hier irgendwo gelesen, dass eine Fediverse-Instanz weggebrochen ist, die gerne für Body-Doubling bzw. das verabreden dazu verwendet wurde.

Der Verein #WohnzimmerNeurodivers bietet dafür eine eigene Plattform inkl. Chat- und Video-Option an.

Habe es selbst noch nicht getestet aber vielleicht kann das ja bei jemandem eine Lücke füllen.

I recently learned that a uni where a friend of mine is working as an adjunct lecturer is experimenting with paying people to body double for students with ADHD, and other conditions it can help with. I want this job!

Body doubling with a friend while they do a job application they've put off for days. There's music to be danced to, but OTOH it's the hottest part of the day. Plus you've got to support your festival crew, and once they've sent this application, they can totally relax and let loose!

Agreed to body double with my partner for a fixed hour to get her through a difficult part of a project. I announced that I would be working on a commit that I started in 2024 and abandoned in a half finished state. By the end of the hour I’d made serious headway, and after another hour it was done.

So yeah, body doubling with a statement of intent definitely recommended for both parties.

Yeah, that's classic #BodyDoubling, or at least, my version of body doubling, as I don't usually have someone who can just pop over to watch me wash the dishes XD

I wonder if most #ADHD folks don't have a strong communal instinct like that, and if our object impermanence when it comes to people is actually a result of our deep desire for connection such that we develop a defense mechanism of entirely forgetting people, rather than missing them so much.

Just had a thought… y’know how famous artists always had “muses”? And there’s fairly broad agreement that a most artists are some flavor of neurodivergent?

What if art muses aren’t magically inspirational, but rather body-doubling the artist, so they could get past their own executive dysfunction (aka, creative blocks)?
