Sur le chemin du retour, je suis passé voir mon ami Tertön dans le Berry. Pour la première fois, j’ai eu l’occasion de l’accompagner au #bodhrán (tambour irlandais) lors d’une jam session dans son jardin. D’habitude, je suis davantage porté sur le style Kerry : taper avec l’avant et l’arrière d’un fuseau de baguettes reliées ensemble. Pourtant, avec la guitare, j’ai trouvé que le type de jeu "top end" (frapper avec une seule extrémité d’un bâton simple) rendait mieux.

I normally find that busy bodhran playing distracts from the melody and drags a tune down. This video is a lovely exception.

Having failed at procuring a Bodhran (please forgive the spelling, I can't do accents on this keyboard), can someone recommend a good place to buy a decent Irish-made one in the UK? Happy enough with non-tunable for a total beginner, but has to be the real deal.
