The UK's so-called "#LabourParty" has tweeted a long series of attacks on Green Party #GPEW candidates in #London, as part of its #antisemitism scare. https://x.com/LondonLabour/status/2051936716257189938
This has clearly been a long time in preparation, and it looks very similar to what #LabourTogether did to sabotage #Corbyn leadership.
Some of the comments are a bit OTT, but some are commendable — like Laura-Louise Fairley in #HackneyDowns, who cheered #BobVylan and wants the #IDF banned as a terrorist organisation. 👍👏

Arrests made in #ParliamentSquare as pro-#PalestineAction protests held across #UK
Dozens of #protesters assembled in central #London on Saturday afternoon
Sami Quadri, Megan Howe, July 19, 2025
"Fifty-five people have been arrested for displaying #placards in support of proscribed group Palestine Action, Met Police has said.
"Demonstrations are taking place in cities including London, #Manchester, #Edinburgh, #Bristol and #Truro after the group was officially proscribed as a terrorist organisation two weeks ago.
"Dozens of protesters assembled in Parliament Square on Saturday afternoon holding white placards that read: 'I oppose #genocide, I support Palestine Action.'
"Some demonstrators were led away in handcuffs, while others were carried off by officers. In a post on X, the Metropolitan Police said: 'Officers have moved in and arrests are taking place.'
"Police said the 55 people arrested were arrested under Section 13 of the #TerrorismAct 2000.
"The Met had previously said around 70 people were arrested at similar protests in Parliament Square over the past two weekends.
"#DefendOurJuries, the group coordinating the campaign, claims a total of 120 people have now been arrested across the UK.
"The force warned that anyone expressing support for Palestine Action was likely to be arrested, adding that officers were also monitoring for chants such as 'death to the #IDF', led by punk-rap duo #BobVylan at #GlastonburyFestival.
"The ban, under the #TerrorismAct2000, makes it a criminal offence to be a member of or show support for the group — with a maximum sentence of up to 14 years in prison. Wearing a badge or #TShirt bearing the group’s name now carries a potential six-month jail term.
"Palestine Action co-founder #HudaAmmori is seeking to challenge the ban, with a hearing to determine whether a judicial review can proceed set to take place at the High Court on Monday."

With regard to Kneecap, Bob Vylan, and Palestine Action, the UK government is acting in a manner both repressive and foolish.
I dislike everything about Kneecap, from their taking their name from a punitive torture used in Northern Ireland to their waving the flag of a Lebanese sectarian militia and their poorly thought out comments on Gaza.
Nevertheless, government attempts to prohibit their expression of opinion is wrong. I understand that there are complex arguments to be had about incitement and free speech, but the UK is surely getting it wrong in these cases, where its difficult to justify in any but authoritarian terms the repression of political discourse like that of Kneecap, no matter how offensive that discourse might be to many.
The repression is also foolish on the government's part. If we accept that Kneecap's advocacy on behalf of Hezbollah is odious, the last thing we want to do is draw still more attention to that advocacy in a futile attempt to silence its expression. Have those responsible for taking legal action against Kneecap never heard of the Streisand Effect?
That effect was probably at work with Bob Vylan, whose odious antisemitism almost certainly received a publicity boost because of the attempt to throttle Kneecap.
As I mentioned above, much more can be said about the regulation of speech, but as an immediate rule of thumb we probably shouldn't police pop musicians publicizing their views on international affairs.
I disagree strongly with Palestine Action's views on Israel/Palestine, and think that they should be prosecuted and punished for criminal damage.* But designating them as a terrorist group and arresting some dotty old C of E minister for holding up a placard supporting them? That's police state style authoritarianism and also counterproductive in a manner similar to that of the crackdown on Kneecap
This repressive strategy also makes it more difficult to know who believes what. Don't silence people! I want to know if pop stars or priests espouse hateful or stupid opinions!
*I've read that there is possible linkage or coordination between attacks on military facilities and armament manufacturers by "antizionists" in the UK and Belgium and the ongoing Russian campaign of sabotage against western arms supplies to Ukraine. I don't know how well grounded these claims are.
