I'm glad you boosted this. I had forgotten it, and I immediately used it to see whether there were any games in which Bobby Fischer as White played the Evans Gambit — and there is one, with Reuben Fine as black. A very early video but a great little game.

In 1986 The United States House of Representatives passed:

> H.J.Res.545 - A joint resolution recognizing Bobby Fisher as the official World Chess Champion.

This is over ten years after Fischer forfeited the title after making numerous ludicrous demands (in 1972 he got away with such behavior).

If I understand this correctly, this was sent to the Senate where it died a quiet death, meaning that it was never a "joint" resolution.
