Hearing the news of the death of #BobbyCharlton, British footballer, has been notable for me. His name has long represented impenetrable humour from another place for me.

It was from watching "The Two Ronnies" as a kid, and they had jokes where the punch line was just saying "Bobby Charlton." The audience would laugh hysterically.

It was totally lost on a Canadian kid, but gave me the sense of how humour is often hyper local, and how one's own perspective is often unrelatable to others.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Bobby Charlton. A real gentleman and a terrific footballer. One of my heroes when I was growing up and kicking a ball around with my pals.
