Earlier this year, an anonymous Montrealer declared Machi Machi to be "an elite Boba shop for YUL". We hopped on the plane to try it out for ourselves!
Ordered black milk tea with crème brûlée, with boba, which was a new experience. 7/10, and as my friend Arlo put it, "would get it again".

Mango Sago — The Sago Saga continuesRecipe by J (antecedents lost in the misty haze of good food)
Soak Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls / Sago) for at least one hour. Boil until translucent, cool & drain. Puree over-ripe Safeda mangoes; dice Sindhoora. Mix with fresh cream or coconut milk, mash well, leave some chunks. Chill. Add condensed milk, for sweetness, if needed — skip if mangoes are sweet enough.

I #love trying all the drinks here in #Vietnam, maybe even more than trying food.
It's #amazing how in the west we're going crazy about #bubbletea the last few years like it's something new and innovative, meanwhile here in #Asia you have the most crazy drinks that make bubble tea seem boring.
And they come with #plastic straws! Not shitty paper that disintegrated in your drink and leaves you tasting paper. Sorry not sorry, but I will never be in favour of those 🥲

Our child has been craving boba. We’ve never been to Queen Cà Phê but some of his friends go here after school.
We decided to share a classic brown sugar (they use a non-dairy creamer) and then a pineapple jasmine tea (with pearls added).
