I *think* I’ve found the problem.
Shaft is pretty well centred at the outboard end of the stern tube, but not at the inboard end. That might be enough to cause the seal rotor and bellows to flex apart when motoring. I only spotted this because I took the seal completely off to check it.I’m seriously considering an electric pod drive..
