Mini scatole, maxi risate.
- Tornei casalinghi social — Su TikTok e Instagram spopolano i mini‑campionati domestici: dadi che volano, risate, e immancabili discussioni su chi “bara sempre”.
😄 Come festeggiare oggi

OK... I've heard overwhelmingly GOOD things about this game, but I'm also very wary of games that rely that heavily on dice rolling. They are also calling this better than El Grande.
What is your take on Rumble Nation?

I’m learning The White Castle so I can do a full review on it. It is also on BoardGameArena.com
If you want to play or learn this game, hit me with a Private Mention with your BGA handle. Likely play Monday evening.

Someone who wants to remain anonymous bought me something off my Amazon list.
The White Castle
I guess this will be the next review.

Looking for my next board game to review. I have a 1st Edition “Euphrat & Tigris” and thinking about reviewing it before the 2026 release of Tigris & Euphrates. Also looking at grabbing a new one from the Amazon List if you have a recommendation.

The review for March of the Ants is all done and is the first entry on my http://jeffowski.substack.com
What should I review next?
Go to profile for my collection and buy list.
I have a lot of older games that I could review and a bunch of new-ish games on my Amazon list that I've been looking at.
Tigris and Euphrates is having a reprinting for later in 2026. I have a 1st Edition of this game.

Two quick photos of tonight’s #MarchOfTheAnts game.

The review I want to post for #MarchOfTheAnts is way too long for the character count on Mastodon, so I've started a Substack.
If you want a full review, head there and I'll have it posted tomorrow.
In the meantime, I got my butt whooped at the last game, and it had the widest points range from top to bottom. Until this game, all the games were pretty tight.
It GREATLY changed my perception of this game, from the other four games I've played.

I am involved in a weekly "Narrative Adventure Game" group and we are getting into the beginning of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood of Venice.
It definitely FEELS like an Assassin's Creed video game.
It is basically a tactical simulator where you have a scenario you must complete, and how well you complete it determines XP that you use to improve your character through skills and abilities.

Official game playthrough and review of March of the Ants is coming soon.
I'm getting this in front of a group of 40-55 year old wargamers.
They already want to use the 2-player starting hex opening for the 4 player game, and they read the rule book enough to come in with some strategies before arriving. (The benefits of scheduling the game.)
I have a feeling I'm going to get stomped, but you always learn the most when that happens.

That's why I mentioned that monopolization is not an issue as long as small publishers can still be sustainable/profitable.
The information control issue can be solved through consumer education, on how the publishers use advertising and how dollars flow to/through the influencers that only get paid (and most importantly, paid again) if they provide the opinion the publishers want.

CW: Not an actual question, but an example of the constant algorithm manipulation by The Op Games
This is what passes for discussion and debate on the Facebook #Boardgaming and #Boardgames groups.
Simply bait for more Flip7 bullshit with "The Op Games" controlling all these groups.
This is what I mean by INFORMATION CONTROL.
-
If you can't tell, I've been swimming through all the various board gaming forums on every single platform. The trend seems to be newbies wanting people to give them list of games to buy (total newbie thing to do), game session reports, and the inevitable "The industry is dying" posts.
I got into thinking, "What actually kills a specific market?"
I end up with a pretty good list, and then I ask myself, "What parts of this apply to board gaming?"
Information Control
-
Externalization of Costs - This is something we do not see, as the consumer. What is the cost of the cheap labor and cheap materials on the social and environmental conditions where the games are being made? How does capital shift the financial burden of running a business onto the public sector, versus digging into any profits?
If you're really worried about the #BoardGame Industry and care about #Boardgaming these are the things you should look to avoid, to maintain a healthy market.
-
Information Control/Asymmetry - Controlling the attitudes and trends within the market. This is a major one I see all the time. Instead of allowing an environment of diverse views, they will try to control the opinions of the larger group.
This is a MAJOR issue. You cannot express any opinions that do not fall into very specific avenues. There is an army of people recruited that will outright ban or block any opinion not sanctioned.

The things I worry about when it comes to the "Board Game Industry" are the classic market destroying things Capitalists do.
While there is no "regulatory" body for board gaming (so no "rent-seekng" or "regulatory-capture"), the market is still open for manipulation through various techniques.
Monopolization - Not a factor, as long as new game publishers are still viable businesses (see rent-seeking, regulatory-capture)
