Been really enjoying Zenith on BGA. The multi-lane tug-of-war reminds me a bit of Caper Europe. The card powers are simple to understand but interesting and with multiple ways to use the cards there are usually some good options. I hope I will be able to find a physical copy soon.

The drafting in Diced Veggies reminds me of My Shelfie but the sum limit is a nice addition. You take dice from the edge of the block, their sum must be 10 or less. Once you have the dice you mostly care about their color rather than the value. You use the color to fulfill recipes. So far this is quite simple, what makes it work for me is the Hype cards: these give bonus points when you fulfill additional constraints.

Miams is a cute little rolliewrite. Doesn't seem to have an international release yet so only been able to play it on BGA so far.

The game looks very simple but thanks to the cards there is a tableau/engine builder hiding under the surface. Just had a game where I scored 40 points in a single turn with a crazy combo.

Ein zwei Spieler Gerry Mandering Spiel

Am Samstag war ich mit zwei Freundys auf den #RatingerSpieletage'n, eines hatte noch Familie und ein weiteres Freundy dabei.

Auf der „Messe“ selbst wars für mich ähnlich wie auf der „Spiel doch!“ letztens in Dortmund (damals zu zweit) vor allem ein Schlendern und Schauen.

Mit #Dindex („Demokratie steht auf dem Spiel“) habe ich mir einen #Kartenspiel-Prototypen erklären lassen, für das gerade ein Crowdfunding läuft.

Wobei mir das nicht so dramatisch erklärt wurde wie hier im Video 😆 Allein deswegen müsste ich trotz des Social-Deduction-Aspektes ja schon mitmachen … 🤔

Kurz nach Mittag sind wir dann doch noch zu dritt auf den Flohmarkt, die Warteschlange war nun deutlich kürzer als vormittags. Ich hab nicht auf die Uhr geschaut, wir mussten vielleicht grob 20 Minuten warten.

Wie im vergangenen Jahr waren die erlauten 40 Minuten für mich wieder knapp bemessen. Immerhin hat das meine Kaufüberlegungen zwangsläufig etwas abgekürzt 😁

#Reykholt ist von 2018 und hatte ich vermutlich als Neuheit damals mit meiner Partnerin auf der Essener Spielemesse angespielt. Ein Essensspiel nur mit Gemüse für 15 Euro 😋

Im Anschluss waren wir mit der Freundyrunde zu viert (darunter zwei Veganys) sehr lecker vegan essen. Für mich gabs einen Döner und eine hausgemachte Limo.

Danach kam bei einem zuhause das kooperative #Brettspiel #HeldenMüssenDraußenBleiben auf den Tisch. Es war unsere erste Partie zu viert, für das eine Freundy-Freundy wars die Erstpartie, die anderen zwei hatten aber auch nichts gegen eine Regelauffrischung nach den ersten zwei Partien Anfang Dezember. Es war leicht knapp, aber es hat für uns zum Sieg gereicht 😃

Es war ein sehr gelungener Tag. Damit es bis zum nächsten Treffen nicht wieder so lange dauert, haben wir an dem Abend bereits das übernächste Wochenende vorgemerkt 🥳

Fun fact: the oldest board game known to man is called "Senet" and it's actually pretty fun to play! I like the fact that there's a board game geek entry for Senet and it says it was published in the year (-3500 B.C.) LOL

Currently at 95.0/100 new #boardgames for 2024. There's two more currently in progress on #boardgamearena, and I assume the other three will be similarly light, so I suspect I can call it for the year in terms of top X retrospectives.

(As usual, my sorting of #AeonsEnd plays by nemesis is splitting the count over multiple items, but if they were all together they'd be most played at around 360.)

Ein paar mal #Stockpile auf #BoardGameArena ausprobiert – es stand jahrelang auf meiner „To try“-Liste.

Vermutlich ein gutes Spiel, mit übersichtlichem Regelwerk. Aber ich glaube, es würde am echten Tisch mit Leuten vor Ort viel besser funktionieren als online. Das gegenseitige Überbieten, dazu der kleine Memory-Aspekt, beides ist für zugbasiertes Spiel nicht ideal. Vielleicht sollte ich es im Echtzeit-Modus probieren; aber generell wird es wohl zu keinem „BGA-Standard“ für mich.

While it may look like Break the Code is the winner by a long shot (thanks #BoardGameArena), I actually played #AeonsEnd 40 times (there are 4 more plays on page 2) and #Exceed 7 times (5 plays on page 2).

I think I just did my best game of #Gizmos ever (on #boardgamearena). 59 points total, 20 of those in the last turn alone. The other poor souls on the table had just 43 and 24 pts. But I must also say that I got a bit lucky because my engine was pretty bad actually.

At last night's virtual #BoardGame night, we played s bunch of games on #BoardGameArena & had a lot of laughs with friends.

We played #WolfgangKramer's #ExpeditionsAroundTheWorld. It is the virtual copy of #SuperMeeple's new edition & looks wonderful. I am added it to my to-get list.

We also played #ZManGames' capture the flag autoduel deck builder, #Challengers and I loved it. Not so much everyone else.

We also played #IncanGold #7WondersArchitects #TimelineTwist & #LLAMA.
