I didn't really like the Batanga cocktail; I finished second in a tiebreaker in My City, and we still haven't finished the Outskirts map in Insurgency: Sandstorm after over 2 hours of play. It was a fun evening, but not a particularly victorious one.

Flamme Rouge
Simple, fast but clever cycling race. You play cards from a deck that is running out. If you spend on fast movement too early you can't take advantage of slipstreaming and get exhaustion cards, but you don't get held up in traffic jams over cobblestones.
A modern redevelopment of Ave Caesar.
Much prefer this to Heat: Pedal to the Metal.

Last night's #boardgames included Create Camp and Bang! The Dice Game. We played both with 7 players. The first went down well and created a party atmosphere as people both created little pictures and tried to work out each others'. BTDG is a light hidden role game (thankfully not social deduction) about rolling dice to kill or save the sheriff - depending which side you're on. Good fun as the roles emerged, and special powers were revealed and deployed.

Getting ready for a night of cocktails and gaming. I think I'm going to make a Batanga, which is basically a Cuba Libre, but with tequila and salt. Then we'll play a new chapter of Knizia's My City. Then we'll play a couple more hours of Insurgency: Sandstorm. We are playing the survival maps and trying to beat each one. It takes us a couple of days to do each, about 20 tries.

#BoardGames you really want to play but haven't, either because you don't own a copy or it's still on your pile of opportunity. Let's make a list, people.
I'd love to play Trickerion, the anniversary edition especially looks gorgeous. (plus half a dozen other games, but that one especially.)

🏗 August 2026 – Development Update
August has been a pivotal month for Steam Cities as we transition from final prototyping into early manufacturing and logistics planning. With the Kickstarter campaign now targeted for October 2026, coinciding with Spiel Essen, every step forward brings us closer to launch, but also highlights the challenges ahead. Manufacturing Underway – With Hiccups Production of the first manufacturing copies has officially begun. However, we encountered an unexpected setback: one of the […]https://sevencastles.games/2026/09/16/%f0%9f%8f%97-august-2026-development-update/

Reading about the updates for An Infamous Traffic I have to say as a fan of the first edition I really look forward to the new one. Especially part 2 about the problem of printing in China feels so understandable.

On a different note, have I told onyone how much I hate AI? Especially that you cannot use any kind of software anymore without getting farced into using it.

Adventures in Lancre and Uberwald will explore Lancre, the Ramtops, Uberwald, and the Chalk, drawing heavily on Terry Pratchett’s witches and supernatural inhabitants of the Disc. #rpgs #boardGames #discworld #modiphius #gamefound #terryPratchett

I don’t think I got the “true” ending, though, I’m sure true to the game. I found ⅓ of the things I’d need to get more story in this final chapter…I think it might be very hard to do solo if I need to do what I think I do in order to make it happen.
I like The Long Hunt bonus chapter; it’s highly dependent on the mini-boss Hunters, giving you tough enemies pretty frequently. You have to have a well-tuned deck and good synergies with your tools and runes to get through the story efficiently. I did find Gherman a bit of a let-down; beat him in two turns, but I think even getting to him is an accomplishment and I enjoyed his deck mechanics.
Have you played Bloodborne: The Board Game? If so, what are your preferred hunters and campaigns? I’m open to suggestions for my next go of it! If you enjoy Bloodborne or tight tactical puzzles and haven’t played this one, I highly recommend you give it a try if you have the chance! (2/2)

Scythe (2016)
I just kind of…forget to post here sometimes. But! I know there are some here who enjoy #boardgames; I recently did a solo campaign of #Bloodborne: The Board Game. I did the Growing Madness campaign and added The Long Hunt bonus chapter from the Hunter’s Dream expansion to the end.
I defeated Father Gascoigne in both standard and transformed forms; I’m not really sure what the story is there since I never played the video game, but the fragments I pieced together even in the board game makes me think it’s tragic. I met his daughter and found the remains of his wife before having to confront him.
I defeated the — er, a — boss in the bonus chapter, but I’m sure true to the game I don’t think I got the best ending. I found ⅓ of the things I’d need to get more story in this final chapter…I think it might be very hard to do solo if I need to do what I think I do in order to make it happen. (1/2)
