World Order
Lighter than Hegemony and with much more freedom of choice. To be fair to Hegemony, it is a one-of-a-kind game, but this is much more manageable.
A game like this needs several plays but I liked my first impression. It might have helped that I was playing the EU who benefit less from direct confrontation.

Last night's #boardgames included a, um, home made copy of Button Men: Beat People Up - a title that really wants you to understand what you're getting into. Actually it's mostly about rolling dice and picking one to remove one of your opponent's. So lots of luck, which meant we couldn't take it too seriously. But also some fairly meaningful choices. We used the dice pictured and, implausibly, didn't have enough of the right ones. Presumably you would if you bought the game.

I don't often find time for #games, but we're away on an unusual #granddaughter visit at a canal side cottage at the moment and I've had a chance to play #Tantrix again. The last time I did that was in January 2024 when we were onboard our boat. I've just realised that the solution I posted then was wrong. I was supposed to be creating a red ring, but the solution I came up with then was a yellow one. I had assumed that only a red ring was possible with the tiles available. You learn something every day.
