Hegemony (2023)
Gestern gab es endlich wieder eine Partie zu viert. Gewonnen hat wieder einmal die Arbeiterklasse, aber ich war mit meinem knappen 2. Platz als Mittelstand sehr zufrieden. Allerdings hatte es der Staat erneut sehr schwer.
Auch wenn die hohe Gewinnrate der Arbeiter (leider) nicht gerade realistisch und das Spiel doch arg glückslastig ist, macht es uns trotz der Zeit, die es benötigt, viel Spaß. Die fast 6 Stunden vergingen wie im Flug. 🥰

Note I say creative decision so "cancelled too soon", "rushed because of executive decisions" etc don't count, has to be an unforced error by the creators that you don't like.

Played Everdell: Emerland today and might actually get rid of our regular Everdell now. The cards have a better form factor. There’s a bit less of things linked together. Tucking cards for some characters gave a nice bonus. This was a “swept up in the moment” purchase at GenCon, but it turned out well. #BoardGames

We played Maglev Metro again today, but with the Paris map (which also had the bonus of not having a warped board issue). Decided that’s really it for us and putting it in the “to sell” bin for an upcoming local games con. Hoping to get a replacement board from Bezier but if not will add a note on the issue to the box. So much potential in this one, but just something not quite clicking for us in the mechanics. #BoardGames

I found Shakespeare’s dark lady today!

Turns out it was Penelope Rich all along and she was hiding in St Paul’s!

My score wasn’t too good though, earning me the title of “golden lad.”

Yesterday I went to Hamish Con, run by https://travel-games.co.uk/ and spent 9 hours in a village hall playing obscure Japanese trick taking games. I also bought this. I have no idea what it is, but I do know I'll need to translate everything. (Pound coin added for size comparison, before you say anything.) #boardgames

In a three-player game of Azul: Queen's Garden on BGA where one player clearly felt out of their depth and just passes at the start of every round, so two of us are continuing to play with an OP number of tiles o_O #BoardGames
