A bit outside my normal wheelhouse, but I DID want to do more fanart, to celebrate stuff I really love.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is so much more than it appears. Amazing characters, beautifully tragic story, unexpected sapphic romance... and plenty of scary stuff too.
While it's outside my normal style and I'm still not sure I'm happy with it, every time I tried to add more or bump up the contrast, I just made it look worse. In the end, I decided to just go with this less saturated, sketchier version. It was a fun exercise in just doing a freeform digital painting rather than planning things out with a preliminary sketch. In any case, more Mike Flanagan stuff, please!
