Just received noticed from #BlueShield that #UCSF, my medical provider for the last 15 years, is leaving the #BlueShieldOfCA #PPO medical network as of 7/10/2025. ☹️
Just started doing some research on which groups are available where I can find a new PCP & all of the "reviews" for all of the medical groups in my area & beyond are dismal. 🤦♂️
That said, I've found that as long as I get a PCP that I get along with & who is responsive to my needs/requests, I'm happy even if the reviews for the group are poor.
So, I may need to try a couple in various groups before I find the PCP that I like.
As the member of a PPO, I don't have to worry all about getting referrals for specialized care but the day-to-day medical care -- labs & prescriptions -- is all I generally need & I just need to find another PCP who is on the same page with me for those things.

Blue Shield of California (US-Krankenversicherung) gab jetzt bekannt, dass es zwischen April 2021 und Januar 2024 zu einem Datenleck gekommen sei, nachdem geschützte Gesundheitsdaten von 4,7 Millionen Mitgliedern den Analyse- und Werbeplattformen von Google zugänglich gemacht worden waren.
Man, man, man...bei Blue Shield waren offensichtlich "sehr clevere Pseudo-Experten" am Werk...

Dec 21st, 6 Luigi’s took banners to the Lamar pedestrian bridge in downtown #Austin, and danced to the #Mario theme song. Pedestrians, cheered, wrote letters to Luigi, and even took photos with the banners. Letters ranged from heart wrenching stories about family members being denied healthcare to love letters. Flyers calling out #BlueCross #blueshield the largest health insurance company in Texas, were handed out.

#PSA: also important to know, if you are "covered" by BlueShield in New York, Missouri or Connecticut: if there's a complication during your surgery and you have to be under anesthesia longer than the penny pinchers have decided is "normal", they won't pay for the "extra" time.
